Alongside Young Chefs and Young Waiters, Young Mixologists compete in a series of practical challenges designed to test the creativity, technical expertise and professionalism required behind the bar.

Competitors are expected to demonstrate exceptional cocktail-making skills, product knowledge and precision while performing under the pressure of live competition. Throughout the event, they showcase their understanding of spirits, flavour, balance and presentation, while demonstrating speed, consistency, innovation and guest engagement—reflecting the standards expected in the world's leading bars and hospitality venues.

The competition culminates in a live restaurant service, where Young Mixologists work alongside Young Chefs and Young Waiters to deliver a complete dining experience for real guests. Success depends not only on technical ability but also on teamwork, communication and the ability to create memorable guest experiences through exceptional drinks service.

The highest-scoring competitor is crowned National Young Mixologist Champion and earns the honour of representing their country at the World Finals, competing against the most talented young hospitality professionals from around the world.
